Students are told not to press the SD button and not to give a approximate decimal answer except when given by the calculator itself. In this task there is an addition grid and a multiplication grid containing a combination of surds, fractions, indices and a trigonometric function. Students should input them into the calculator as presented and then write the first answer the calculator gives in the cross-section of the grid.
Perfect as a high end GCSE task, a GCSE-A-Level Mathematics bridging task or as an A-Level consolidation task for students who are maybe still uncomfortable about giving or getting exact answers.
