Students are told not to press the SD button and not to give a approximate decimal answer except when given by the calculator itself. In this task there is an addition grid and a multiplication grid containing a combination of surds, fractions, indices and a trigonometric function. Students should input them into the calculator as presented and then write the first answer the calculator gives in the cross-section of the grid.
Perfect as a high end GCSE task, a GCSE-A-Level Mathematics bridging task or as an A-Level consolidation task for students who are maybe still uncomfortable about giving or getting exact answers.

Save time and energy by keeping all your practice question ideas in one place.
This is a new content planner designed exclusively for teachers, examiners and education content creators.
Create and build a bank of your own unique questions for your own resources and practice papers. Design and record questions focused towards the needs of your students. Create and compile questions for a mixed question practice paper a test on a specific topic.
Keep this planner with you and write in your ideas as soon as you have them to review later.
Each planning page contains space to write your question and space to write a mark scheme and corresponding mark allocation.
For the visually minded there is a blank sketch area on each page and 20 x 20 section of graph paper to reference any graphs needed for your question.
There is a place to allocate a question number, the paper it will be included in, the qualification it is relevant for and a space to identify the relevant learning objection being assessed.
Is there a particular question you have seen in a textbook or published paper that you would like to reference or model? No problem, at the top section of each page you can note the location of an inspiration or reference question. There is a place for additional notes and page numbers for reference.
Ultimately, we know you will want to compile appropriate questions together and write them up neatly on a computer producing a fantastic new resource
At the rear of the planner is a question compiler. This enables you to list and page reference up to 30 questions per resource and order them how you would like, before transferring to the computer to create your new practice activity.
Additionally, there is also an example of how to use each section on the page to make it clear how you can get the most out of the planner.
The Practice Question Planner is designed primarily for mathematics and STEM subject teachers, lecturers and educators, but is flexible enough to be used by any subject teacher.
Contains 120 planning pages and 4 compilers so you can create up to four exam’s worth of questions per planner. Size 8.5 by 11 inches (216 by 279 mm).

Previous resources that have been shared, including a remastered version of the equivalent representations activity that was developed a few years ago, have been uploaded. There is also the Casio Calculator Tarsia which lets students match Calculator button presses with the results produced.
There are also two new resources Solve, Then Factorise, specifically desiganed with instructions for the Casio Classwiz fx-991EX, but could be used with any calculator with a polynomial solver.
The first task, which is free, gets students to input a quadratic equation into the solver and then retrive and record the solutions. From those solutions the then get the factors and complete the factorised form of the equation. This is the opposite way around to the convention of factorising, then solving and provides a different take on working with quadratics.
Finally there is a space to expand the factors and check it expands to the correct quadratic equation.
There is also a second and third task Solve, Then Factorise 2 and 3, which are available to buy together. These extend student’s confidence and skill with this technique, with further examples and when combined with Solve, then Factorise 1 can provide a lessons worth of activity for the students with their Classwiz, for a small charge.
Both tasks are complete with instructions and solutions.
Visit the TES shop and get Solve, Then Factorise

Or if you use Teacher’s Pay Teachers instead, the tasks are available here too.
